With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Ruey Edelen Jr. of Vermillion, South Dakota, who passed away on November 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Joseph Ruey's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Joseph Ruey has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the United Church of Christ (226 E Main St, Vermillion, SD 57069). A rosary was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Agnes Catholic Church (416 S Walker St, Vermillion, SD 57069). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to St. Agnes Catholic School, the Vermillion Public School Foundation for playground equipment upkeep, USD Football or Volleyball programs, the Vermillion Rotary Club, the Vermillion Athletic Booster Club or the USD Chamber Singers for their travel fund.
