She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Fischer and Anna Fischer (Johnson); her husband Lowell Benjamin Bast; her brother Robert Fischer; her stepsister Blanch Eich; her son-in-law Robert Shirey Jr.; and her grandson Robert Shirey III.

She is survived by: her daughters, Luanne Hammerbeck (Roger) of Hamill, SD, Bonnie Shirey of Sioux Falls, SD and Lori Dolney (Thomas) of Rapid City, SD; her grandchildren, Brian Hammerbeck (Lee) of Rapid City, Brad Hammerbeck (Jennifer) of Rapid City, Kyle Hammerbeck (Sara) of Hamill, Kory Hammerbeck (Megan) of Rapid City, Lowell Dolney (Megan) of Columbus, NE, Katie Dolney of Rapid City and Amy Hix (Jacob) of Sioux Falls; and her niece Caron Ellerbush (David) of Sioux Falls, SD.. She is also survived by great grandchildren.
