It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sheila Rae Knebel (Valley Springs, South Dakota), born in Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on April 18, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Olauson and Hazel Olauson; and her brothers, Leonard and Clinton. She is survived by: her husband Tom Knebel; her grandchildren, Paula Adler (Matt), Dalton, Kathryn, Lauren, Heather Swann (Phillip), Santiago, Nick Knebel (Heidy), Shala Koster (Brad), Trevor, Kara, Logan, Luke, Scott, Samantha, Landon and Mariah; her brother Ralph Olauson (Sharlene); her aunts, Olive Aiken and Lyla Olauson; and her uncle Bob Aiken. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.

Also, the family requests no flowers.

My husband had the pleasure of working on a few job sites with Tom & considered him an upstanding guy. God bless you, Tom, and your family. Our hearts ache for you.”

“I send my sincerest condolences in the loss of Sheila Olauson Knebel. I met Sheila at school when we moved to Sisseton, SD, age 12. Sheila had the best smile, laugh, sense of humor & fun. We had so much fun together whether it was in band, Home Ec, Future Nurses or Future Homemakers Club! 3 years ago during Sisseton’s 125th SHS Class of 1971 who were in town gathered together. I did not see Sheila come in, felt her give me a playful squeeze from behind & it was laughter/tears! Love to all.”
