The memory of Dirk Johnson of Valley Springs, South Dakota, who passed away on April 10, 2025 at the age of 64, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Johnson and Ruth Johnson; his sister Kreste Albertus; his grandparents, Dick and Bessie Hoogestraat; his parents-in-law, Milt and Marlene Scholten; and his pet Pepper.
He is survived by: his wife Melaine Johnson of Valley Springs, SD; his children, Kathryn Lofton (Wade) of Lakeville, MN, Joseph Johnson (Julie) of Valley Springs, SD, Lindsey Block (Bryce) of Ellsworth, MN and Shyanne Johnson of Brandon, SD; his grandchildren, Alexis (Lofton), Austin Biddle, Bryce Lofton, Carley Lofton, Destiney Lofton, Elijah Lofton, Forester Lofton, Graham Lofton, Hope Lofton, Isabel Lofton, Jeremiah Lofton, Preston Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Paisley Johnson, Tate Carda, Tyson Carda, Trey Carda, Tessa Carda, Hadley Block, Harper Block, Hunter Block and Shyanne; his uncle Francis (John Bangsund); and his close friend Shane Caldwell. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Brandon Valley Assembly of God (201 S Sioux Blvd, Brandon, SD 57005). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a future charitable cause in memory of Dirk.
