He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rothschadl and Lillian Rothschadl (Cihak); his son Robert Lee Jr.; and his brothers, Joseph Rothschadl, Richard Rothschadl and Roger Rothschadl.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Rothschadl of Tyndall, SD; his children, Scott Rothschadl, Kim Brown (Mark) of Elgin, OK and Stacie Wagner (Rick) of Mitchell, SD; his sister Rose Marie Gebhart of Marshall, MN; his father-in-law George Broz of Tyndall, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Rothschadl of Tyndall, SD, Kathy Hight (Howard) of Mitchell, SD, Judy Fleming (Dan) of Elk Point, SD, Diane Broz of Prescott Valley, AZ, Kevin Broz (Alvina) of Willard, MO and Ron Broz (Sharon) of Tyndall, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
