He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Lukkes and Martha Lukkes (DeLange); his grandson Darin Roth; his son-in-law Paul Roth; and his siblings, William, John, Cornelius, Regina Kathryn Ludens, Elizabeth Burma, Martha Babcock and Rose Vilhauer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ferwerda of Tyndall; and his children, Lyla Roth of Avon, Joan Czmowski (Tony) of Waubay, Brenda Bailey (Eli) of Lavernia, TX, Arnold "Lucky" Lukkes of Sioux Falls and Jim Lukkes (Mary) of Avon. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
