We are sad to announce that on November 14, 2023, at the age of 88, Allen H Vacknitz (Tyndall, South Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Vacknitz and Rose Vacknitz (Schmoll); his wife Evelyn Schneider; and his siblings, Ruby Goehring and Don Vacknitz (Corky).
He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Van Gerpen (Rodney) of Avon, Kay Wright (Glenn) of Sioux Falls, LuAnn Wright (Gary) of Sioux Falls and Rachel Bertus (Loren) of Avon; his grandchildren, Paul Van Gerpen (Dena Akridge), Hilary Hilzendeger (Cody), Michael Wright (Brittany), Elizabeth Bayreuther (Zach), Rebecca Wright, Mandy Husby (Kevin), Sarah Solma (Jason), Jeff Bertus, Joe Bertus (Nikki) and Jill Tolsma (Devin); and his great grandchildren, Chandler, Mira, Harrison, Graham, Baker, Maverick, Adam, Emma, Harper and Madison.
Al moved into the Tyndall Good Samaritan Home in February of 2020, just one month prior to COVID-19.
