He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ehlers and Ruby Ehlers (Olson); his wife Judy Jerke; and his siblings, Larry, Bob, Gary and Sharon.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jessica (Liz Sanchez), Justina Kinsey and Jonni Wahle; his brother Ron (Diane Ehlers); and his grandchildren, Malynda, Alexys, Kalynn and Coltyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
