He is survived by: his significant other Kathryn Payne; his children, Leon M. Svoboda (Cindy), Thomas, Richard Svoboda, Jan Angel (Francisco) and Amy Lacek (Dean); and his siblings, Larry Svoboda (Maggie) of Harvey, ND and Loretta Nitsche. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
