He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Mahaffy and Marie Mahaffy; his wife Virginia Rae; his son Lyman; and his brothers, Duane Mahaffy and Teddy Mahaffy.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie; his daughter Melissa Scofield (Jim) of Belle Fourche, SD; his stepchildren, Julia Tystad (Vern) of Gillette, WY and James Catchpole (Bethany) of Boise, ID; his daughter-in-law Fran McCoy (Jim) of Belle Fourche, SD; his sisters, Kathy Williams (Arnold) of Watertown, SD and Inez Jibben (Butch) of Rapid City; and his sister-in-law Nadene Mahaffy. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
