With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martin Norman Hertel of Sturgis, South Dakota, born in McLaughlin, South Dakota, who passed away on June 17, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred M. Hertel and Anna Hertel (Zimmerman); his wife Irene Minnie Carney; his stepmother Hildegard (Billigmeiere-Dobler); his siblings, Leonard, Alfred, Raymond, Willie, Lester, Hertha and DeLanis; his half-brothers, Harvey, Ronnie, Delray and Stanley; and his stepsiblings, Lloyd, Lemore, Leroy Dobler, Jeanette Dobler-Jundt and Shirley Dobler-Jerry.
He is survived by: his brother Lawrence of Sturgis, SD; his half-brother Timothy Hertel of McLaughlin, SD; and his sisters-in-law, Elnor (Alfred), Mary (Lawrence), Bernice (Willie) and Donna (Harvey). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces.
