He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick M Hertel and Anna Hertel (Zimmerman); his siblings, Leonard, Alfred, Raymond, Willie, Martin, Lester, Harvey Sr., Rodney, Delray, Stanley Hertel, Hertha Scott (Charles) and Delanis Jochim (Casimir); his stepsiblings, Lloyd, Lemore, Leroy Dobler, Jeanette Dobler-Jundt and Shirley Dobler-Jerry; and his great grandchild Cole Bertolotto.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Laura Maier (Rich), Lyle Hertel (Rose), Marty Hertel (Delrita Troska), Marlo Hertel (Virgil Armajo), Myron Hertel (Shelly Ferdig-Johnson) and Melissa Schneider (Pat); his brother Tim Hertel; and his sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hertel, Bernice Hertel and Donna Hertel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren.
