Irene Long Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Long (Sturgis, South Dakota), who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Keffeler and Mary Keffeler (Grubl); her husband Benny; her grandson Benjamin (Benny); and her siblings, Laura May, Bernice Hanks, Charles "Bud" Keffeler, Mae Dingeman, Art Keffeler, Maurice Keffeler, Marian Clinch and Ralph Keffeler.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Bridgewater of Lakewood, CO, John Long (Dede) of Red Owl, SD, Glen Long (Janet) of Enning, SD. and Lyle Long (Cindy) of Enning, SD.; her grandchildren, Michael Bridgewater, Jay, Jeff, Justin Long, Brooke Long Uherka, Bailey Long, John B., Lyle Jr., Josh Long and Tiffany Long Skavang; and her siblings, Mabel McPherson, Rose Marie VanSickel and Murrin Keffeler.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel (1235 Junction Ave, Sturgis, SD 57785). A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (1049 Howard St, Sturgis, SD 57785).
A memorial has been established to the Red Owl Fire Department and the H & M Arena.
