It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Arden Ehlers of Sturgis, South Dakota, who passed away on December 19, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Shoun and Leona Shoun; her brother Russell Shoun; her brother-in-law Don Moeller (Tuff); her nephew Eddie Weyer Jr.; her niece Anna Marie Weyer; and her great-niece Jessica Ann Weyer.
She is survived by: her husband Merlin Ehlers of Sturgis, SD; her daughter Jerri Heggem-Mooney (Mike) of Spearfish, SD; her grandson Tim Heggem (Gina) of Rapid City, SD; her great grandchildren, James, Oliver, Andrew, Ryan Heggem (Elizabeth) of Spearfish, SD and Katie Heggem (Cody Ertman) of Spearfish, SD; her siblings, Bob Shoun (Sydney) of Sundance, WY, Delbert Shoun of Sundance, WY, John Shoun (Rose) of Sundance, WY, Loretta Weyer (Ed) of Rapid City, SD, Betty Engstrom (Don) of Sundance, WY, Debbie Ellsbury (Larry) of Sundance, WY, Peggy Moeller of Sundance, WY, Kim Shoun of Sundance, WY and Lisa Mills (Star) of Gillette, WY; her sister-in-law Delilah Shoun of Sturgis, SD; her uncle Virgil VanDeventer of Parker, CO; her stepchildren, Randy Ehlers (Joyce) of Sturgis, SD and Kim Matz (Harold) of Sturgis, SD; and also Lucas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
