He was predeceased by: his parents, Algot A. Johnson and Lillian M. Johnson (Berg); and his wife Evelyn Lockhart. He is survived by: his children, Steven Johnson (Kirsten) of Plover, Wisconsin and Karen Larson (Paul) of Oconto, Wisconsin; and his stepsons, Kent Worthington (Lynn) of Edwards and Michael Worthington of Texas.
