We are sad to announce that on December 3, 2024, at the age of 86, Ronal Chewakin of Spearfish, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur L. Chewakin and Eleanor L. Jacobson; his brother Mike Chewakin; his grandson Blaze Unruh; and his nephews, Micheal Chewakin and Chip Valor.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna R. Gilman; his children, Kimberly Meier (Todd) of Beulah and Todd Chewakin of Las Vegas, Nevada; his stepsons, Shane Gilman (Michelle) of Phoenix and Rick Gilman (Didianne) of Houston, Texas; his granddaughters, Brittney Aanderud and Brook Smith (Blake); his stepgrandchildren, Tanner, Kyle, Brontë, Aliya and Kelton Gilman; his great grandchildren, Caiden, Callen, Cashden, Harper and Blazely; and his siblings, Trudy Valor (Lynwood) of Sugar Grove, IL, Sheralyn Tedeschi of Sarasota, FL, Melonia Wahl (Bruce) of Pierre, SD and Marc Chewakin (Jeff) of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In memory of Ron, the family is asking for memorials to be made to Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
