It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Austin Ewing of Spearfish, South Dakota, born in Sundance, Wyoming, who passed away on November 25, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Durward William and Ester Mae Ewing (Warner); his wife Josie Ewing; his stepfather Billy Driskill; his brother Lyle Ewing; his half-sister Shirley Driskill Bell; his brother Gerald "Buster"; his sisters-in-law, Marlene Popham, Judy Aberle and Karrol Brown; and his niece Linda Ray.
He is survived by: his former wife Josephine Mayme Frank; his sons, Robert Ewing (Sherry) of Spearfish, SD and Brett Ewing (Debra Bookout); his grandchildren, T. J. Ewing (Julie) of Spearfish, SD, Mindy Ladner (Adam) of Spearfish, SD, Cali Egerdahl (Christopher) of Spearfish, SD, Kyle Ewing, Maria Gall of Las Vegas, NV and Camille Ewing of New York, NY; his great grandchildren, Cassidy, Lanie, Ty Ewing, Wesley, Grady, Coyer Ladner, Hayes Egerdahl and Jo Ellen Ewing; his half-sister Virginia Hendricks of Hendersonville, TN; and his siblings-in-law, Florence Ewing of Denver, CO, Maurine Knapp (Albert) of Gold Hill, OR, Robyn Moug (Jo) of Deer Park, WA and Jerry Brown of Buffalo, WY. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit Spearfish Horseshoe Club.
