With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Doris L. Venekamp of Spearfish, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Doris left this world on January 14, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Cross and Lorraine Cross; and her husband Jack Venekamp. She is survived by: her children, David Venekamp (Cathy) of Weston, WV., Glenna Theberge of Polson, MT., Michael Venekamp of Spearfish, SD., Lorraine Venekamp of Seward, NE. and Robin Sandor of Spearfish, SD.; and her sister Ardis Williams of Omaha, NE.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel (1235 Junction Ave, Sturgis, SD 57785). A burial will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785). A reception will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Gathering VFW (3102 E Fairgrounds Loop, Spearfish, SD 57783).
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations go to Still Water Hospice.
