He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schroeder and Susie Schroeder (Becker); his former wife Doris Kinsman Schroeder (Freeda Crago Summers) of Worthington, MN; his siblings, Leo Schroeder, Adina Lagemann, Christine Larson, Verna Schroeder, Violet Schroeder, Gladys Larson and Agnes Deckert; and his grandson Brian Douglas Schroeder.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Schroeder (Joanne) and Nancy Schroeder; his grandchildren, Erin Haynes (Russell) and Nathan Schroeder (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Wesley Haynes and Brian Haynes; and his wife Freeda. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Samaritan's Purse and DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
