He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Whitney and Lorraine Whitney (Tribitt) of Waverly; his son Scott Whitney; his brother Dale Whitney; and his close friend Marlys Chambers.
He is survived by: his son Matt Whitney (Sarah); his granddaughters, Hayley Schulte (Devon), Harley and Bently Whitney; and his siblings, David Whitney, Larry Whitney (Marge), Jane Haan (David Stratton), Alvin Whitney (Sue) and Joan Taecker (Roger). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
