It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leroy Hellwig of Sisseton, South Dakota, born in Menno, South Dakota, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Hellwig (LaVonne) and Goldie Hellwig (Guthmiller); his brother Gene; and his daughter-in-law Donna. He is survived by: his significant other Lavonne (Fossum); his significant other's child Kim; his children, Blaine (Rebecca) and Kim Nordby (Jon); his grandchildren, Tyler (Rylee), Ryan (Tannah), Hayden and Oliver; his great grandchild Aleigha; and his siblings, Connie Erickson (Wally), Dennis (Cherie) and Lawrence (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will forward memorials to several local charities, including the Sisseton Alumni Association, Sisseton Area Community Foundation, and Tekakwitha Living Center.
