With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Larry Van Der Vliet (Sisseton, South Dakota), who passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Der and Betty Van Der (DeKnikker). He is survived by: his wife Connie Olauson of Sisseton; his children, Stacy Parmely (Chad) of Pierre, Sarah Heumiller (Jason) of Sioux Falls, Joshua Van Der (Megan), Erling Olauson (Tammy) of Benton, Steve Olauson (CC) of Greensboro, Melissa Olauson (Jeff) of Aurora and Jenna Heylens (Thomas) of Volga; his grandchildren, Hayle Bals (Mark), Alexis DeBoer (Ryan), Carter, Issiah Heumiller, Slade, Tryton, Ryker Parmely, Andrew Brown (Brianna), Cody Olauson (Brittany), Matthew Olauson (Lexi), Colby, Jennessa Olauson, Cayce, Colton Hoeke, Wes and Charlie Heylens; his great grandchildren, Krew, Lydia, Noah, Bricelynn, Oaklee, Aria, Aubree, Reagan, Cash and Rhett; and his siblings, Beverly Thon (Jerry), Ruth Price (Kevin), Allan Van Der (Janelle), Loren Van Der (Kathy) and Wayne Van Der (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Buffalo Lake Church (44844 123rd St, Eden, SD 57232). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (421 3rd Ave E, Sisseton, SD 57262).
