Judith Symens Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 28, 2022, at the age of 80, Judith Symens of Sisseton, South Dakota, born in Ledyard, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Herzog and Phyllis Herzog; her husband Herman Symens; her brother Roy Herzog (Barbara) of California; and her siblings-in-law, Marge Symens, Faye Schmidle, Lamoyne Prouty, Irwin Symens and Gene Armstrong.
She is survived by: her children, James Symens (Laura) of Claresholm, Julie Symens of Sisseton, Janelle Symens (Brett) of Aberdeen and Joel Symens (Gerlyn); her grandchildren, Leah Hanson (Justin), Lexi Bohlander (James), Dillon Bohlander (Annalesha) of South Dakota, Colton, Cheyenne, Colby Symens of Canada and John Symens; her great grandchild Jhett Hanson; her sisters, Betty Kendall (John) of Minnesota and Nancy Herzog of Colorado; her nieces, Cindy Herzog (Brian Barnes) and Amy Butterfield; her nephew Rodney Herzog; and her siblings-in-law, Aletha Prouty, Cleo Symens, David Symens, Karen Jongling (Darrel), Paul Symens (Faye), Doris Armstrong, John Symens (Shirley) and Craig Schmidle. She is also survived by many other friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, Judy and the family have requested that memorials be directed to the Zion Reformed Church of Amherst, First Presbyterian Church of Sisseton or the July 2023 NALJA show in Rapid City hosted by the South Dakota Limousin Association.
