He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Carl and Margaret Carl (Yeager); his wife Esther Laun; his siblings, Claude, Don, Darlene Olson and Sandy Rae Carl; his parents-in-law, Emil Laun and Julia Laun Friesendahl; his siblings-in-law, Betty Gail, Beverly Carl, Gordon Olson, Terry Nerison, Edward and Danny Laun; and his great grandchild Wyatt Mogren.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Shawn Carl, Timothy Carl, Chad Carl, Steven Carl, Casey Kayl, Brandon Maser, Kelly Maser and Miles Carl; his children, Lyle (Sandra Kaye) of Claire City, Robert (Marsha) of Kalispell, MT, Michael of Spearfish, Gary of Sioux Falls, Kathleen Dalberg (Norman) of Claire City, Laurel Kayl (Wayne) of Custer, Pamela Maser (Ron) of Spearfish and Susan of Veblen; his siblings, Wayne Carl of Waconia, MN, Marlene Carl and Karen Nerison of Watertown; and his siblings-in-law, Caroline Dobberstein (Roland) of Balaton, MN, Betty Lou Carl of Sisseton, Bonnie Laun of Ham Lake, MN, Linda Laun of Coon Rapids, MN and Gerald Laun of Osceola, WI. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
