He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Merrick (Treml) and John Merrick; and his siblings, Autumn Kerr Thomas and John. He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Lane Timm, Cindy Peplinski, Patrick (Shelly) and Bradley Merrick (Kelley); his grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, Eric, Joshua, Caleb, Andrew, Theresa, Kayla, Keara and Elijah; his great grandchildren, Jameson and Oliver; and his sisters, Yvonne Shell and Roxie (Keith).
