She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Rothans and Margaret Rothans (Staebell); her husband Marvin Groeneveld (Gronie); her sisters, Ardell Lewin, Viola Fox and Donna; her half-sister Joann Westrup; her aunt Rose Staebell; and her daughter-in-law Karen Groeneveld.

She is survived by: her children, Marlene Mellegaard (Ed) of Baltic, SD, Linda Wilkes (Bill), Nancy Viet (Darrell), Jim Groeneveld (late Karen), Roxanne Keupp (Kirk), Paul Groeneveld (Nancy) and Julie Dodd of Sioux Falls, SD.; and her sisters-in-law, Joanna Elder of Santa Barbara, CA, Myrna Searl and Mavis Groeneveld. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
