He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hoeke and Elnora Hoeke (Korstjens); his sister Margaret; and his brother-in-law Dale Aesoph. He is survived by: his wife Judy of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister Jean Aesoph of Milbank, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Butch Jackson (Sue) of Milbank, SD, Richard Jackson of Utah and Linda Redmond (Mick) of Milbank, SD. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
