He was predeceased by: his parents, Bette Burkhart (Crisp) and Andrew Burkhart; and his brothers, John and Bill Burkhart. He is survived by: his children, Julie Van Dam (Brian) of Dell Rapids, SD. and Matt Burkhart (Tamara) of Dunlap, IA; his wife Jeanette (Williams); his grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, Andrew Van Dam of Dell Rapids, SD., Abigail, Talia and Tristen Burkhart of Dunlap, IA.; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Koller (Deane) of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
