He was predeceased by: his son James; and his parents, Nicholas Penning and Elizabeth Penning. He is survived by: his wife Sharen H. Luschen; his sons, Allen Penning (Leslie) of Sioux Falls, SD, Douglas Penning (Sharon) of Winona, MN and Dale Penning (Patty) of Harrisburg, SD; his grandchildren, Brittney Penning (Dan), Matthew Penning (Sally), Jackson Penning (Jordan), Claire Penning, Ryan Penning (Amy) and Ross Penning; his great grandchildren, Emma, Renley, Holden, Eleanor, James, Adley and Maryn; and his sisters, Vera Burggraff (Bernie) and Karon Penning. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
