He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Hoffman and Esther Hoffman (Rau); his former wife Donna Marie Jemtrud; his grandson Jake Davis; and his nephew Kevin Reich.
He is survived by: his wife Donna McDonald; his children, Lynn Hoffman of Moorhead, MN, Michael Hoffman (Kelly) of Fargo, ND and Shelly Lane (Scott) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Amanda Hoffman and Ashley Schatzke (Michael); his great grandchildren, Nadia and Grayson; his grandsons, Zach Hoffman and Michael Hoffman; his great grandchildren, Abby and Sophie; his grandchildren, Cassie Hoffman, Haleigh Tursam (Ben), Hannah Lane and Hope Lane; and his siblings, Janice Reich (Dale) of Aberdeen, SD, Edith Harmon (Joe) of Vale, SD, David Hoffman (Dianne) of Volente, TX and Jeff Hoffman (Kathy) of Overland Park, KS..
