He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ehlen and Louise Ehlen (Stragliati); his children, Marie Ehlen and Allan Doering; and his siblings, John "Jack", Charlie "Chick", Helen, Dorothea, Donna and Rita.

He is survived by: his wife Danielle Ogdie; his children, Laurie Nelson, Brandon, Linda Fountain (Kevin), Colton and Royce Ehlen; his grandchildren, Ashlie Wingate (Ryan), Brandon, Blake Nelson (Anna), Casey Dickerson (Christopher), Talon Sauers and Jamie Jones; his great grandchildren, Keegan, Koen Wingate, Bennett, Benson Nelson, Ari, Maeve and Rae Dickerson; and his brother Nick "Bull" Ehlen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews.
