He is survived by: his wife Susan Kay Valkenaar; his children, Erika Kruggel (Brad), Marisa Geiken (Leroy) and Jeffrey (Jennifer Ackerman); his grandchildren, Carson, Morgan, Kevan Kruggel, Lauren, Kendall, Cameron Carlson and Hadley Geiken; and his siblings, Jerrie Johnson (Carlson) and Dick Carlson (Diana) of Spring, TX. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews.
