He was predeceased by: his parents, Jenny Louise Quam (Larson) and Andrew Quam; and his siblings, Kenny Quam, Lawrence Quam, Eileen Walerius (Quam), Dorothy Hovelsrud (Quam) and Carol Nelson (Quam).
He is survived by: his wife Martha Quam (Reeve); his siblings, Patricia Hough (Quam) and David Quam (Carol); his children, Cindi Richards (Mark), Beth Quam (Keith Adams), Dan Quam and Charles Quam (Anna); and his grandchildren, Andrew Quam and Abigail Quam. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
