He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Slocum and Florence Slocum (Kolaas); his daughter Ruth Le Ann Slocum; his brother James Slocum; and his son-in-law Mark Zimmel.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene Slocum; his daughter Sheri Zimmel; his grandson Jacob Zimmel; and his sister Joan Van Skiver.
