He was predeceased by: his wife Clara June DeToy; his daughter Jennifer Ode; his grandson Luke Lodermeier; and his sisters, Pearl Stoterau and Doris Koch.
He is survived by: his children, Carlene Lodermeier (Willie), Tom Elverson (Cindy) of Sherman, SD, Lisa Wahowske (Mike) of Eagan, MN and Amy Weismantel (Marty) of Columbia, SD; his son-in-law Doug Ode (Amy) of Brandon, SD; his grandchildren, Allison Gier (David), Ryan Ode (Lauren), Erik Ode (Gracie), Ted Elverson (Christine), John Elverson (Taylor), Katie Wahowske, Hattie Weismantel and Elliana Weismantel; his granddaughter-in-law Kimberlee Lodermeier; his great grandchildren, Elmer, Walter, Emma, Edwin, Wyatt, Adeline, Ellis, Bowen, Rosalie and Dawson; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Martinson and Joe Zimprich. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home (101 Leslie Dr, Garretson, SD 57030). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Highland Lutheran Church.
