He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Lerseth; his parents-in-law, Charles and Betty Schaffer; and his grandparents, Joseph, Myrtle Lerseth, Everett and Violet Stewart.
He is survived by: his mother Bernice Lerseth (Stewart); his former wife Cathy Koens; his wife Carol Schaffer of Sioux Falls, SD; his daughter Cynthia Porter (David); his granddaughter Emily of Tracy, California.; his siblings, Heidi Kraayenbrink (Larry), Brent Lerseth (Sonya) of Sioux Falls, SD, Scott Lerseth (Melanie) of Pierre, SD and Troy Lerseth (Tony) of Laguna Niguel, CA; and his sister-in-law Cathy Cheadle (David). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
