He is survived by: his wife Sally J. Welch; his sister Eleanor Stienstra of Moran City, CA.; his children, Richard Day (Julie), John Kelly Day (Chere), Diane Verrett (Mike) and James Day (Denise); his grandchildren, Rachael Day, Kyle Day, Sean Day (Sarah), Catherine Becker (Thomas), Jason Verrett (Sarah), Drew Jones, Chantel Nicholson (Lyle), Fletcher Day, Chandler Day and Olivia Day; and his great grandchildren, Lucas Day and Kirby Becker.
