He was predeceased by: his wife Zola Gross of Aberdeen; his parents, Emil and Gertrude (Zola); and his siblings, Alma, Dorothy, Yvonne, Shirley, Mildred and Ray.

He is survived by: his children, Brenda of Tacoma, WA, Brad (Chris) of Dell Rapids, SD, Clay (Kate), Laura of Alexandria, VA, Dianne of Seattle, WA and Newfoundland; his granddaughter Dianne; his daughters, Kudu, Oryx, Warthog, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Elan, Tigerfish and Hippos; his cousin Pheasant Hunt'; his extended family, Oblerlitners, Sheldons, Pudwills and Goebels; his son Roachdale; his grandchildren, Maxwell, Solomon, Elliot and Annabelle; his sisters, Ruth, Phylliss, Joyce, Elaine and Judy; and his close friend Maxine. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends.
