It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nyla N. Thornton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Mitchell, South Dakota, who passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dale Newcomer and Betty Newcomer (Bell); her sister Nancy; and her parents-in-law, Orville and Ann Thornton.
She is survived by: her former husband Charles Thornton; her daughter Patricia; her husband Chuck of Sioux Falls; her children, Tim (Tonia) of Brookings, SD, Patti Lager (Wade) of Freeman, SD and Tom (Jena) of Hartford, SD.; her grandchildren, Tyson Lager of Pasadena, CA, Carli Bunger (Cody) of Madison, SD, Jenna Thornton of Cape Coral, FL, Jackson Thornton of Las Vegas, NV, Molli of Hartford and Abbi Thornton of Hartford; her sister Donna Tiede (Jerry) of Le Sueur, MN; and her sister-in-law Roxanne Wickre (Gary) of Osage, MN. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
