He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shomper and Ruth Shomper (Bast); his daughter Erin Kay Shomper; his brother Daniel Shomper; and his brother-in-law Robert Redmond.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Balk; his children, Dan Shomper of Annapolis, MD, Kelly Shomper (Matthew Evans) and Greta Shomper (Forrest Hopper); and his siblings, Chuck Shomper (Sharon), Judy Redmond and Bob Shomper (Diane). He is also survived by The sister, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
