She was predeceased by: her parents, Grant Hollingsworth and Wilda Hollingsworth (Conger); her husband Gary Petterson; and her siblings, Willis Hollingsworth, Betty Gott and Richard Hollingsworth.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert Lloyd Roach; her children, Ben Roach (Holly Slama) of Mankato, MN, Rick Roach (Kim) of Sioux Falls, Michelle Wells (Eric) of Sioux Falls and Mike Roach of Sioux Falls; her stepsons, Kelly Petterson (Tanya) of Sioux Falls and Korry Petterson (Kim) of Pittsburgh, PA; her grandchildren, Shandi Wells, Christine Wells (Dillin), Seth Roach (Courtney), Nick Roach, Alyssa Farrow (Don), Jack, Sam Roach, Rachel Roach, Laura, Andrew Petterson, Alyssa Kaper and Alex Petterson; and her great grandchildren, Alesa Steele, Favian Wells and Jonah Wells. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
When the children became older, around 1970, Nellie began working at Business Resources in Sioux Falls, SD and continued working there until her retirement, due to Alzheimer's disease.
