He is survived by: his significant other Christie DeJonge; his grandson Brent; his children, Denyce Buettner (Kiley) of Garretson, SD and Brent DeJonge (Chelsea) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Braden, Ian Buettner, Mason and Everly DeJonge; his sister Jeanne Kleeb (Lynn) of Lincoln, NE; and his siblings-in-law, Terry McLean of Houston, TX, Cheryl Roberts (Gene) of Westfield, IN and Susan Prasse (Chris) of Fort Worth, TX.

“To all the DeJonge family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I am also very grateful for the brief visit with Mike and Chris this past December. I did not imagine it would be a final goodby to MIke; however, that visit added a capstone to long and treasured connection to Mike and his family. Our families first met in 1953, and soon became forever friends. Through time and distance, that friendship never waned. Memory: When I was 13, little Mike shared his water cup with me, including Mumps!”
