He is survived by: his children, Rick Peterson (Michelle) and Kristi Bassett (Ryan Putnam); his grandchildren, Dalton, Taylor, Drake, McKenzie, Caden, Tara, Jeff, Jaris and Jordan; and his sister Florence Doran. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
