He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhardt Nielsen and Clara Nielsen; his siblings, Jack, Sunny, Robert Nielsen and Karen Christiansen; and his stepson Donnie Schmidt.
He is survived by: his former wife Doris Schmidt; his sisters, Ella Clark and Lillian Moore; and his uncle Mel.
