She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Engebretson and Josephine Engebretson (Anderson); her husband James Schmidt; and her sisters, Norma Joyce and LaVonne Stavig.
She is survived by: her children, Rondi Shafer (Darrell) of Colorado Springs, CO, Nancy Hodge (John) of Lakewood, WA, Sandra Schoenecker (Larry) of New Prague, MN, Cathy Halbritter (Joel) of Willmar, MN and Joel Schmidt (Amanda Raetzman) of Pennock, MN.; her grandchildren, Joshua Shafer, Beret Mangino, Krista Shafer, Samuel Hodge, Kelsey Hodge, Nicholas Schoenecker, Anna Jo Carstensen, Andrew Halbritter and Kaia Jo Halbritter; and her great grandchildren, Joby, Crew and Vivi Jo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peace Lutheran Church, Alzheimer's Association, P.E.O. International, or Special Care at Good Samaritan Village are preferred.
