She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Westhoff and Ellen Westhoff (Gaspar); and her sister Linda. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Samir Abu-Ghazaleh of Sioux Falls; her children, Tracy Bernard (Christopher) of Rapid City, SD, Zaki Abu-Ghazaleh of Deadwood, SD, Samira Diggs (Dylan) of Frederick, MD and Andrew Abu-Ghazaleh (Kalee) of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren, Nolan, Connor, Ian Bernard, Paxton, Damian and Roman Diggs; her siblings, Jim Westhoff (Korinne), Cathy Roling (Rich), Cindy Duffy (Mike), Bob Westhoff (Rita), Tammy Teske (Leonard) and Steve Westhoff (Shelley); and her brother-in-law Lloyd Martin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was passionate about education, children with learning challenges, her Catholic faith, the people of Palestine, and the mission of the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. Mary was on the Board of Directors for the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation.
