She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Therese Hennes; and her brothers, Bill Hennes and Tim Hennes. She is survived by: her husband Bill of Sioux Falls, SD; her daughter Anna Meyer (Matt); her granddaughter Olivia; her daughter Halie Retterath (Alex Frankel) of Seattle, WA; and her siblings, Judi Miller (Mike) of Land, Ken Hennes of Minneapolis, MN and Joan Hennes of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Great Plains Zoo in Mary Beth's name.

“I'm very saddened by the news of Mary's passing. My childhood is sprinkled with many great memories of her and her family. Her parents and my parents were friends and I remember being at the Hennes house when I was very young. The first MD Carnival I ever attended was in the Hennes backyard. Mary was so full of life, it was infectious. And she was so nice- to everyone without judgement. The world just lost a very good soul.”
