He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Thornton and Lena Thornton (Cook); and his sisters, Rose Blakey of Yankton, SD and Marilyn Wright. He is survived by: his sons, Cory Thornton of Sioux Falls, SD, Joey Thornton, Doyle Medicine Eagle and Tommy Crow. He is also survived by four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
