She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Arends and Eileen Arends (Farley). She is survived by: her husband Jack of Monroe, SD; her sons, Jeff Backer (Marnie) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jody Backer (Janell) of Norwalk, IA; her grandchildren, Harrison Backer, Finnigan Backer, Harley Stewart (Zachary), Aryanna Backer, Carson Backer and Alayna Backer; her great grandchildren, Elijah, Sibyl and Rowette Stewart; and her siblings, Liz Otten (John) of Hawarden, IA and Wesley Arends (Shirley) of Black Hawk, CO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.
