He was predeceased by: his parents, John Velgersdyk and Nellie Velgersdyk (Vande Griend); his brothers, Harold, Harvey and Clarence Velgersdyk; and his son Michael Velgersdyk (Kristi).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Hulst; his children, Scott (Lisa) and Pamela (Doyle); his grandchildren, Jared (Emily), Ryan (Nicole), Kaylyn (Andrew), Derek (Lauren), Taylor and Alexis; and his great grandchildren, Hayleigh, Sydnie, Jade, Caiden, Masen, Evelyn, Ryker, Harlow, Lauryn, Olivia, Patrick and Ava.
